"Just Be"

I feel so nervous,
I have to be perfect,
There's really just one reason,
Because I know you're worth it.
I have only one objective,
Only one thing to do;
The words must be just right,
And then I have to tell you.
I scratch at my hair,
I pull at my clothes,
I try to keep my cool,
And I know it shows.
I now stare at the ground,
My face is turning red,
I'm searching for the words,
Somewhere deep within my head.
I begin to speak
But something's terribly wrong,
Your beauty takes my breath away,
How can I stay strong?
Your smile rips my thoughts apart,
Maybe I should hide,
Then suddenly my eyes meet yours,
What's this feeling inside?
So powerful, so comforting,
In your eyes I see,
That there really is no need to speak,
Simply to just be.

Dedicated to My Dearest Shawna,
I think this is the first poem I wrote for her when we started dating :)

Today, Tomorrow, and Eternally Only Yours Beautiful.

I hope you like it.
