Literature Text

          …What I See…

Why do you not see,
what's right in front of me?
Why don't you see,
     what I see?
A perpetual radiance,
     hiding itself in darkness.
Darkness that shuns,
when I try to get close?
Darkness that turns your cheek,
as I reach in to kiss you?
How do I break through the shadows,
     that hide your heart away?
I want you to see,
what's right in front of me,
I want you to see,
     what I see.
Let me into the darkness,
I will show you the light I know is there.
Then let my light in,
and watch the shadows cease to be.
Please believe in me, just take my hand,
let me pull you from the darkness.
Then I know you'll see,
what's right in front of me.
Then I know you'll see,
     what I see.

I really don't know what to say about this poem; most people in general have no idea just how beautiful they truly are, I guess this was me telling someone I love dearly that I can see it and that I wish she could...

Thank you

Thanks for the watch! (Can't promise I'll be uploading a ton though). Wow, you've only been here for two weeks and already you have a ton of deviations ^_^

So I took a glance through the rest of your gallery and this one caught my eye. It's very...relevant I think, especially for people today. What with all the depression, self-hate, and lies about worth, people never seem to realize that there are other people out there who think they're beautiful. Good job on this.
